Michael Pahls, Beloit

Michael Norbert Pahls was born on March 9, 1954 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Edward and Cecelia “Sis” Engelbert Pahls. He died on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home in Beloit at the age of 68.
Mike grew up in Tipton where he graduated from high school. Upon graduation, he attended the Vo-Tech in Beloit, where earned a degree in carpentry. He briefly moved back to Tipton before moving to Glasco, where he spent the majority of the rest of his life.
While in Glasco he owned and operated his own general carpentry business before working 16 years for Natural Gas and Pipeline. Mike later worked for Carrico Implement in Beloit before returning to his carpentry business.
Mike was active in the community as a volunteer firefighter and competitor on club archery and trap teams, as well as hunter safety instructor. He was also one of the founders of Tappan Hill Black Powder Cartridge Rifle, Inc. near Glasco. Although Mike loved the outdoors with a special passion for shooting, hunting, fishing, and camping, his pride and joy were his three grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son Adam and his wife Lindsay of Derby; three grandchildren, Wyatt Michael, Finley Grace, and Adelyn Marie; his siblings Reta Schroeder of Beloit, Joe of Smith Center, Marilyn Goheen of Minneapolis, Betty and husband Tim Eilert of Beloit, and Patrick Pahls and Michelle Serra of Littleton, Colorado; 12 special nieces and nephews; and a host of great relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton. A parish rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, and visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the rosary service begins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church.
