MITCHELL COUNTY—Law enforcement have a kidnapping suspect in custody after a high-speed chase in north central Kansas.
On Friday, the Mitchell County Sheriff's office asked the public to be on the lookout for a black 2014 Mustang with a silver grille. "Proceed with caution, do not approach and contact law enforcement immediately."
The car and driver were involved in a kidnapping incident on US Highway 24 west of Beloit in Mitchell County, according to the sheriff's office. The victim escaped with injuries and was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries.
The suspect and stolen Mustang left the scene and were later pursued in Osborne County. The suspect is believed to have been possibly involved in an incident in Jewell County prior to the Mitchell County incident.
The Kansas Highway Patrol and Osborne county authorities took the suspect into custody. The name of the suspect and possible charges have not been released.
