A Salina resident has taken it upon himself to make an impact on the youth by driving 400-plus miles across the northern border of Kansas in a golf cart.
Brandon Ebert on July 24, began his journey driving across Kansas along Route 36 in a golf cart for the sake of embarking on a first-of-its-kind fundraiser.
This fundraiser will consist of Ebert golfing across Kansas to help remove financial barriers and expand golf access for youth nationwide, connecting 12 golf courses and playing 117 holes along the route.
Ebert will engage golf facilities, junior golfers and local communities along the route to raise awareness and a fundraising goal of $25,000 for Youth on Course, a nonprofit organization providing youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf.
E-Z-GO LLC has partnered with Youth on Course, by providing Ebert with a Liberty 4F golf cart to make this journey possible.
"Golf has given me so much throughout my life, and I'm excited to take on a one-of-a-kind challenge to help ensure more young people have the same opportunities," said Ebert.
Ebert is part of the board of directors for Youth on Course, a lifelong golfer, entrepreneur and father of two.
He said every kid deserves to have the opportunity to reap the benefits golf provides.
"I believe every kid deserves the chance to experience the lessons, friendships, mentorship, and opportunities that golf can provide. This journey is about celebrating my home state while showing what's possible when communities come together to invest in the next generation."
According to Youth on Course, every dollar raised will help the organization continue providing rounds of golf for $5 or less while also supporting college scholarships, internships, leadership development and career opportunities.
Furthermore, every $7 raised through this journey funds one round of golf for a young person.

- Spring Creek Golf Course - Seneca
- Marysville Country Club - Marysville
- Cedar Hills Golf Course - Washington
- Belleville Country Club - Belleville
- Mankato Golf Course - Mankato
- Smith Center Municipal Golf Course - Smith Center
- Phillipsburg Golf Club - Phillipsburg
- Prairie Dog Golf Course - Norton
- Oberlin Country Club - Oberlin
- Atwood Country Club - Atwood
- Riverside Recreation Golf Course - St. Francis
Ebert shared his thoughts with the Post about his journey so far.
"It's been a fun journey playing in some great communities with wonderful people. Youth on Course exists to get kids access to golf, and this trip will be a great leap for new courses and kids to join the organization. For a small membership fee, kids get access to over 2,300 courses and other great golfing experiences."
