A Salina man was arrested for stabbing a teenager in the back, needing medical attention.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Wednesday at around 1:15 am, officers were dispatched to an alleyway between Charles and W. Prescott for the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Damien Anderson (21) who was suspected to have stabbed an 18-year old male in the back, sending him to the hospital.

Reportedly, an argument occurred between Anderson and the victim inside the 18-year old's home. Multiple people were inside the house, when Anderson grabbed a knife and ran towards the victim, attempting the stab him.

The victim exited the home and ran towards his friend's vehicle, but Anderson caught up and stabbed him in the back, according to SPD.

Anderson was arrested in the area and booked into the Saline County Jail for the requested charge of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

The victim's friend transported him to Salina Regional Health Center and is being treated for the stab wound on his back.
