MANKATO - A small earthquake shook part of Jewell County late this afternoon.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 3.1 magnitude quake struck southwest of Mankato at 5:11 p.m. Saturday. The earthquake was centered just north of J Road and east of 90 Road, slightly more than three miles west of the Jewell County State Park.
