Carl Vernon “Buck” Nelson

Carl Vernon “Buck” Nelson, 82, of Marquette passed away Monday, November 20, 2023. Buck was born August 10, 1941 in Lindsborg. He is the son of the late Vernon E. and the late Mildred M. (Stromberg) Nelson.
Buck worked as an oil field worker, construction worker, and factory worker. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. He served as a volunteer firefighter on the Marquette Fire Department. Buck also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels.
Survivors include his daughter: Nicole Koehn (Mike) of Canton, KS; and his step grandson: Chance Koehn of McPherson, KS; as well as a niece, nephews, several great and great great nieces & nephews.
Buck is preceded in death by his parents; son: Bucky Braden; and sisters: Karen Deatherage and Ruby LeGron.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 26 from 5-7PM at Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.
The funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27 at Freemount Lutheran Church, 2511 8th Ave, Rural Lindsborg. Burial will follow in Freemount Lutheran Cemetery.
