Nora F. Shaffer, 107, passed away Oct. 30, 2019. Nora was born March 16, 1912, in Milan, Wash., to Edward F. and Laura Riley. She married Oliver Lee Shaffer, March 28, 1932 in Dodge City, moved to Hutchinson in 1939, and then to Delphos in 1946.
She assisted Lee with Shaffer’s Recreation, in Delphos, for 15 years, and worked at the Delphos and Minneapolis Rest Home until retiring. Nora was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Delphos.
Survivors: son, Donald Shaffer (Sylvia) of Salina; daughters, Laura Rowley of Los Gatos, Calif., Denise Morganthaler (Mike) of Edmond, Okla., and son-in-law Dave Jordan of Greely Colo. Nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Tonya Shea and Sheryl Rauch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; stepmother, Fanny Riley; brothers Bernard and Orville Riley, sisters Mary Lou Grimm, Patricia Parks Pointer and Donna Jordan; sons-in-laws, Larry Rowley and Delmer Gardner; and grandson David Rowley.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at Ryan Mortuary. Inurnment to follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Delphos.
