Southeast of Saline USD 306 has announced the next Superintendent, Tuesday morning.
Original: USD 306 in final stages for search of next superintendent
According to USD 306, Ted Brown will be the next Superintendent.
Brown comes from Ingalls USD 477 where he started his teaching and coaching career before working in Hiawatha and Clay Center. He returned to Ingalls in 2020 as Principal and has been Superintendent since January 2025.
USD 306 stated this decision follows a thoughtful and thorough search process that engaged staff, families, and community members.
Brown replaces Roger Stumpf who is retiring effective June 30, 2026 after serving as the 7-12th grade principal for 3 years and as superintendent for the past 8.
The following is a statement from USD 306:
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in the process—whether by completing surveys, attending meetings, or visiting with the candidates. Your engagement helped guide the board in identifying the qualities most important for the future leadership of our district. Stakeholder input indicated that our community and staff highly value strong communication, transparency, and the ability to manage district resources responsibly. Respondents emphasized the importance of a leader who listens well, communicates clearly, and demonstrates sound judgment in budget management to ensure long-term stability for our school.
After carefully considering candidates, the board of education believes our selected superintendent truly embodies these qualities. We are confident that this individual’s leadership style, commitment to collaboration, and focus on responsible stewardship of district resources align closely with the priorities shared by our community.
Please join us in welcoming Ted Brown to the Southeast of Saline community. We look forward to the leadership, vision, and partnership Mr. Brown will bring as we continue working together to support the success of every student.
