BARTON COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Saturday in Barton County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Acura MDX driven by Jared C. Chipman, 24, Mounds, Oklahoma, was eastbound on Kansas 156 approximately three miles north of U.S. 56. The SUV rear-ended the trailer pulled by a 2005 Western Star Semi driven by Gavin M. Lindsey, 24, Salina, who was stopped and waiting to make a left turn onto NE 60th Avenue.
EMS transported Chipman to the hospital in Great Bend. Lindsey was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
