The Congress and the President of the United States have declared the week of May 12 through May 18, 2024 as National Police Week. National Police Week offers honor, remembrance, and peer support, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
The City of Salina honors the valor, service, and sacrifice of its peace officers and those of other agencies locally and nationwide. All are invited to join in honoring the fallen at the 2024 Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on May 15 at 8:00 a.m. at Jerry Ivey Memorial Park, 2465 Edward Street Salina.
Four Salina officers have given their lives in the line of duty. These heroes are:
