NEW CAMBRIA, KAN. - Kickoff the hunting season with food. And help an area church get some new windows at the same time.
"Our beautiful church was established in 1873. The current building was build in 1875," said Jean Curry. "We need new windows and it's a big expense"
So the church is doing a fundraiser that includes food and fun.
Nvember 14th from 11:00 to two in the afternoon they are having soup, homemaade desserts and drinks. They are also taking donations.
"With hunting season starting we felt this was a unique way to kick it off," said Curry. "The funds raised this year will help towards the expense of replacing the parish hall windows."
"The Dane G. Hansen foundation has blessed us with a grant for part ot the replacement. We are still needing over half cost of the windows," said Curry.
The parish hall is well used in the smaller community of New Cambria. Curry says it's vital to the area.
"We are taking donations but the food will be good," said Curry. " We hope the area community will come out for a good cause."
