More than 5,000 people have registered for COVID-19 vaccination appointments in Saline County.
That's the word from the latest edition of the Saline County Health Department's Vax Facts update that was released late this afternoon.
Registered Saline County residents who currently are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations -- those 65 or older, and anyone in Phase 1 who has yet to be vaccinated -- will be called for scheduling in the order their registrations were received, the health department noted.
Once approximately one third of the over 65 population has been vaccinated, the ability to move to the next step pf Phase 2 will be evaluated, according to the health department.
Phase 2 populations include the following.
●Persons age 65 and older
●Persons living in congregate settings
●High-contact critical workers
●All unvaccinated persons prioritized in Phase 1
Persons who fit into the above categories who wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine need to register at the Vaccinate Saline County website by clicking on "Register for Vaccine."
According to the health department, once you have successfully registered online, you will see the following confirmation.

The health department asks that once you are registered, please do not call to ask for a timeline or "order in the queue" as health department personnel do not have the ability to answer those questions.
Persons without access to the internet can register via phone or by visiting Saline County Senior Services at the senior center. See information below.
