The Southeast of Saline Trojan softball team fell in both games of their doubleheader on Monday with the Clay Center Tigers.
After the sweep, SES falls to 6-2 while Clay Center improves to 6-0 on the season.
Game one was a pitchers duel through four innings, with the Tigers holding a slim 1-0 lead.
Clay Center would break the game open in the fifth however, striking for six runs to seal an eventual 7-1 victory in game one of the doubleheader.
South Dakota commit Clara Edwards pitched immaculately in the win for the Tigers, allowing just one run on three hits and striking out 16 Trojans on the day.
The bats for both teams came alive in game two, with 34 combined runs coming across to score in just five innings.
SES collected three runs in the first and second to tie the game at 6-6 before the Tigers added five in the third and a whopping nine in the fifth to regain the advantage.
The Trojans found five runs of their own in the home half of the fifth but still came up on the short end of the stick, dropping game two by a final score of 20-14.
The SES softball team will be back in action this Thursday when the team travels to Beloit to take on the 8-0 Trojans.
