Medicaid expansion virtual meeting for Salina area Tuesday

Posted Jul 27, 2020 5:44 PM

The Alliance for a Healthy Kansas plans a virtual meeting for the Salina area concerning Medicaid expansion on Tuesday evening.

The meeting, via Zoom, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday. RSVP here, then you'll receive the necessary Zoom information to join the meeting.

Medicaid expansion is an opportunity to improve health insurance availability for low-income Kansans, according to the alliance. During this meeting, participants will hear the details of the policy, hear from a Kansan without insurance, and talk about how to educate community members and candidates for office about Medicaid expansion. Additionally, the alliance wants to hear from participants about how Medicaid expansion would affect access to care and the economy in their communities.

The Alliance for a Healthy Kansas is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working on health policy in Topeka, particularly engaging in public education and advocacy work on the topic of Medicaid expansion.
