Kansas Wesleyan's Lauren Blue (SR/Arlington, Texas) has been named as the KCAC Softball Player of the Week for her efforts over the last week for the Coyotes. Blue's selection comes from nominations and selections by conference sports information directors.
The Coyotes played five games last week in Tucson, Ariz., in the Tucson Invitational Games, posting a 2-3 record overall, but picked up wins over the University of Jamestown and then No. 9 ranked Olivet Nazarene.
Blue had a solid week for the Coyotes in their five games in the Tucson Invitational. She hit .308 with a pair of homers, including a homer in KWU's upset win over then-No. 9 ranked Olivet Nazarene. She had two hits in the ONU game. She was also walked five times in the Tucson Invitational.
KWU is 5-10 overall and returns to action this weekend, opening KCAC play on Saturday at Friends, then hosts No. 25 ranked Morningside on Sunday at Salina South.
