McPherson County reports 40th case of COVID-19

MCPHERSON -- The McPherson County Health Department has reported another confirmed case of COVID-19.

The newest case is a male in his 20s who is currently isolating at home and has an unknown exposure, the healt department noted in a news release issued this afternoon.

Additionally, the case reported on Monday is related to a long term care facility, the health department reported.

"McPherson County is working with this facility to complete facilitywide testing, where we plan to complete over 350 specimen collections. At this time, no one in this facility is symptomatic and all families and staff have been notified and are cooperating with the testing strategy," the health department explained in the news release.

According to the health department, McPherson County now has 40 total confirmed cases and one case identified as probable by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). Of the total confirmed cases, 30 have met KDHE recovery guidelines, the health department noted.
