Harold W Hanson, 82, of Scandia, died peacefully on September 28, 2022 of natural causes in Wichita, KS. Harold was born November 15, 1939, in Leland, IA, to Velma (Gavin) & Orville Hanson.
He graduated from Tracy (CA) High School and soon entered the Air Force (61-63').
Harold was an outside sales representative and business owner most of his life.
He belonged to the Clonmel-Schulte Knights of Columbus Council 3114 for over forty five years and a proud member of the Scandia American Legion Post 193.
He enjoyed playing softball and golf with many close friends throughout his life. His laughter was infectious and upon meeting Harold, he was soon your friend.
Harold is survived by his life partner Carolyn Cornett (Belleville, KS), son Greg (Merresa) Hanson (Newton, KS), daughters Karen (Kevin) Crabtree (Wichita, KS) and Kristy (Mike) Sandbo (Wichita. KS). Grandchildren Clinton Hanson, Justin (Jessica) Crabtree, Kylee (Geoff) Weninger, Garrett Crabtree and Kailyn, Easton and Rilynn Sandbo.
Harold was predeceased by his parents Orville and Velma, wife Marianna (Ward) Hanson, stepfather Eugene Finamore, and son Randy Hanson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville. The casket will remain closed.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 5th, at 11 a.m. at Amana Lutheran Church, 418 Grant St., Scandia, Kansas, with Pastor Al Urich officiating. A reception will follow at the Scandia American Legion.
Burial with military honors will be Thursday, Oct. 6th, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church Cemetery, 11000 W. Southwest Blvd., Wichita, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Scandia American Legion Post 193 or the Newton American Legion Post 2, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
