Saline County seeks community input for mental health block party

It’s time to come together and celebrate our community’s strength and resilience. We are thrilled to invite you to play a pivotal role in forming a planning committee for next year’s Community Mental Health Block Party. Your involvement is not just important, it's crucial.

This block party will be an all-ages opportunity to promote awareness around mental health, reduce stigma, and provide resources for our friends and neighbors needing support. But it's also a chance for us all to come together, find joy, and remind each other that we’re all part of this vibrant community.

Our kick-off planning meeting will be Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Saline County Health Department, 125 W. Elm Street Conference Room A.

At this meeting, we’ll discuss the location, activities, volunteer needs, and more. Your voice and perspectives are invaluable to making this a fantastic event that brings our community closer. Some preliminary ideas for the block party include:

Food trucks
Live music and performances
Mental health resource fair
Lawn games, face painting & activities for kids
Inspirational guest speakers (poetry, spoken word, story-telling)

We still need YOUR creative vision to make this extraordinary, as this event should reflect our community’s collective vision. Let’s show the power of community support and break through stigmas together. Mental health affects us all, and by coming together, we can break down stigmas and foster a supportive environment.

We can’t wait to see the incredible energy and creative ideas that our community will bring to this special event!
