DICKINSON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Tuesday in Dickinson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Chevy Impala driven by Jerry Ray May, 88, from Colorado, was exiting Interstate 70 eastbound on the north side of Chapman. The driver failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign. A 2000 Peterbilt semi driven by Collin Wiliam Gfeller, 20, Chapman struck the Chevy on the driver side.
EMS transported May to Wesley Medical Center. A passenger in the Impala and Gfeller were not transported for treatment. Gfeller was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

CHAPMAN - The Kansas Highway Patrol has announced a major injury crash that occurred at the Chapman interchange area.
According to Trooper Tod KHP Hays, the crash happened on Rain road into Chapman. the road will be shut down for unknown amount of time for law enforcement to work the crash site.
KHP advises those needing to travel towards Chapman from I-70, exit at Junction city and take Old Highway 40, or exit and take milepost 281 and go down to Old Highway 40.
