
Charlotte Sue Wilson, 79, of Salina, KS, entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Charlotte was born on July 23, 1946, to Doran D. Dewald and Elma L. (Miller) Dewald at Russell County Hospital. She attended school in Russell, KS where she graduated in 1964. After high school, she attended business school in Wichita, KS. Following graduation she returned to Russell, KS where she worked until she met the love of her life.
Charlotte met Jim Wilson on a double date in Waldo, KS. After a short courting, the two were married on November 19, 1966. The couple made their home in Salina, KS where they raised their three sons. Jimmy, Darren, and Jason. Charlotte dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was a hard worker and an avid gardener. She spent warm afternoons either in her greenhouse working with her plants or on a craft or outside enjoying the fresh flowers near her Koi Pond. Charlotte and Jim enjoyed spending time together at the lake and traveling to visit family across the United States. She was her grandkids biggest cheerleader and always enjoyed attending their activities.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her infant brother Thomas, her sister Linda (Dewald) Austin, her brother-in-laws, Ernest Sitz and Ronald Austin, her parents, and grandparents and one grandson, Josh.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jim Wilson, her three sons, Jimmy (Traci) Wilson of Berryton, KS, Darren (Lori) Wilson of Brookville, KS, Jason (Lisa) Wilson of Gulf Breeze, FL, and her grandchildren Nicholas, Remington, Alex, Nick, Joseph, Adrie, Kalei, and Matthew, one great-grandson, one great granddaughter, her sisters Julia Sitz and Margaret (Kelly) Vosburg, her brothers Richard (Pat) Dewald and Steve (Shilah) Dewald, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to service on Monday, the 29th of September 2025 at Church of the Cross UMC, 1600 Rush Street, Salina, KS. Memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at the church. Burial will happen at a later date in Waldo, KS.
