CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cloud County Community College athletic department finished the year with a program-best sixth-place finish in the 2020-21 National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Daktronics Cup Standings.
Earning a total of 116 points throughout the season, the T-Birds would finish with the third-highest total amongst Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Schools, trailing only Barton Community College and Cowley Community College who finished third and fifth, respectively with team National Championships boosting their scores for the year.
The sixth-place finish in the scholarship division is one spot higher than last year's previous program-best of seventh-place as the T-Birds would earn a total of 52 points in a pandemic-shortened 2019-20. Cloud County has now finished inside the top-10 of the NJCAA Scholarship Division for each of the past four seasons dating back to the 2017-18 Daktronics Cup.
Colleges in each division are allowed to use their top-five finishes per gender at their highest level of competition to earn points for the Daktronics Cup. The champions of each competition score 20 points, second place scores 19, third place 18, etc. This is the third year that Daktronics has sponsored this award in conjunction with the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA).
