Gayle LaVern Leister, 85, died July 10, 2023. Gayle was born on March 9th,1938; the son of Glenn and Verna Leister. He grew up in the Kipp area and graduated from Kipp High School. He was united in marriage to Helen Hoeffner on August 23, 1958 and from this union were born 4 children; Rick, Randy, Sheri and Rusty.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Clarise. He is survived by his 4 children; a step daughter, Rachel; a brother, Charles (Marlene) and a sister, Mary Johnson; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Gayle worked at the Kipp Grain Elevator, Graves Truck Line and took over the family farm when his father-in-law passed. In 1968, he invested in the Red Pussy Cat Club and became co-owner for ten years. He opened the Slipper Slide, a popular disco club with Helen. He later moved to Madison, KS, where he started his trucking Company, Cherokee Trucking, until his retirement.

Cremation was chosen and burial will be at a later date.
