Lonnie Wayne Elliott, 75, of Abilene, passed away January 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Lonnie was born June 23, 1948 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Winston and Byrna (Liesenfeld) Elliott.On November 4, 1977, he married Patricia Lundberg in Manhattan, Kansas. Lonnie and Patty raised four magnificent children. They were the loves of his life. He opened his business, Modern Plumbing, LLC, in 1979. He spent many years working with friends and family.
He retired in 2017 after receiving a cancer diagnosis. He loved the community that supported him throughout the years. His son, Jessie, still runs the family business.
Lonnie enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing pool and cards. He never missed an opportunity to take a fishing trip to Canada with his boys and friends. Any time spent outdoors with loved ones was time well spent.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law, Lenos and Regina Lundberg. He is survived by his wife Patty of the home, his daughter Jamie Hodges of Abilene, his sons David (Angela) and Jessie of Abilene, and Joshua (Kyra) of Garnett, KS. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: Ashley (Jose) Albarron, Ethan, Dalton, Abigail, Logan, Madasin, Natalee, Lenny, and Mila, and two great-grandchildren: Elliott and Gabriel. Two brothers, Tim and Jeff, both of Abilene and a sister, Susan Elliott of Manhattan. He will also be missed by many more loved ones too numerous to name.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 16th, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Danner Funeral Home, 501 N Buckeye, Abilene, KS. A Union Cemetery graveside service is planned for Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 at 10:00 am. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Andrew’s School Building Fund and may be left at Danner Funeral Home.
