The Southeast of Saline boys and girls basketball teams will be back in action today for a pair of home games against the Ellinwood Eagles.

The Lady Trojans will get things started at 6:00 against a 11-6 Lady Eagle team that has become very dangerous throughout the course of the 2020-21 season.

Ellinwood is led by sophomore Brittney Simpson, who’s 14 points and 7 rebounds a game are both good enough to lead the team.

Behind Simpson, the team gets a big boost from senior Mya Maxwell and another sophomore in Bella Baker, who make up a trio that combines for over half of Ellinwoods point total.

The Lady Eagles enter tonight's contest on a three game winning streak while SES comes in fresh off a close loss to Hays TMP on Saturday.

Following the girls game at 6pm, the Southeast of Saline boys team will square off against the 15-3 Eagles.

Ellinwood comes into tonight's contest riding a five game winning streak and ranked ninth in class 3A.

The Eagles rely heavily on a young scoring trio of sophomores Brit Dutton, Tyler Stuhlsatz and Parker Scheck, who combine to account for 80 percent of Ellinwoods points this season.

This game could be an excellent resume building win for the Trojans and a great opportunity for the team to bounce back after a tough loss to Hays TMP over the weekend.

Both games can be heard on KINA (910 AM or 107.5 FM) courtesy of Eagle Radio.
