Agenda items
Tim Rogers, executive director of the Salina Airport Authority, is scheduled to provide commissioners with an update concerning air service in and out of Salina.
On March 10, SkyWest Airlines filed a 90-day notice of intent to terminate its Essential Air Service contract at Salina, citing a nationwide shortage of pilots. The U.S. Department of Transportation responded with a hold-in order, requiring SkyWest to continue operations until a replacement air carrier “begins full Essential Air Service.”
In early April, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced the extension from April 11 to May 11 of the deadline for air carrier proposals to replace SkyWest Airlines.

Commissioners also are scheduled to hear an update about the Saline County Jail project from County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes. According to a report from the construction team that was included in the commission packet, the following work was done during April.
●Detention basins in progress
●Complete exterior footings in Area A & Area E
●Complete slab on grade under cell areas in Housing Unit A
●Prep slab on grade under cell areas in Housing Unit B
●Complete slab on grade in Area D
During May, workers are scheduled to begin setting in place the precast cell modules, in addition to a number of other tasks.
Smith-Hanes also is scheduled to give his weekly update during the meeting.
Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to meet in executive session to discuss a non-elected personnel matter.
