Cheryl Brandsted

Cheryl Brandsted, age 76, of Osage Beach, Missouri and McPherson, Kansas passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Stonebridge Senior Living, Osage Beach, Missouri.
She was born on July 9, 1947, in McPherson, Kansas; daughter of Theodore Tobias and Evelyn Jenny (Moulds) Becker. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1965 and attended McPherson College and Fort Hays State University. She was united in marriage to John Brandsted on July 14, 1968.
Cheryl enjoyed reading, gardening, drawing, antiquing, and working with her friends at Best Western and NCRA. When her children were young, she volunteered as room mother at their school, in Camp Fire Girls, and supported them through years of swim team. She was active in Grace Bible and New Gottland Covenant Church, as well as in P.E.O.
In her youth, she loved to ride her horses and take care of animals of all kinds. She loved to talk to people, preferably with a coffee in hand. She was known as the neighborhood mom to many. Her most precious thing in life was her family. She was a cat lover at heart, especially her beloved Larry. Cheryl will be missed by every person she touched.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, John Brandsted; her children Rebecca Brandsted and husband Nathan Cowan, Erick Brandsted and wife Cheryl K Brandsted; her grandchildren Jacob and Lillian Cowan, and Nina and Vera Brandsted; her brother Mike Becker (Anita), and Mitchell Becker (Susan), and her nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Cheryl was preceded by her parents Theodore (Ted) and Evelyn Becker; and her brother Marlin (Mutt) Becker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut Street, McPherson, Kansas on Saturday May 18th at 10 am. Cemetery service will follow for immediate family only.
Memorial donations can be made to the McPherson Public Library or the McPherson Hospital Cancer Center in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home.
