The City of Salina has announced that reduced speed school zones will be active around USD 305 schools conducting a summer session beginning Tuesday.

Summer school sessions are scheduled for Cottonwood Elementary School and Sunset Elementary School from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday, except the Juneteenth holiday on June 19.

"While summer school is in session, the reduced speed school zones around these schools will be enforced. Flashing lights on school zone signs will be activated to remind drivers the reduced speed zones are in effect," the city noted in a news release.

The other school zones in Salina will not be enforced until the regular school schedule begins in August.
