County commission to review need for face mask mandate

Saline County Commissioners are scheduled to review the county's face mask mandate during their Tuesday morning meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

The review of the face mask mandate was a condition of the commissioners approving the mandate on July 8. Every two weeks since, the commissioners have reviewed the county's COVID-19 situation in order to determine whether to to maintain the mandate for another two weeks.

In other business Tuesday, the commissioners are scheduled to:

●Consider RFA #230-20 Jail Cameras -- Capt. Stan Fruits, Sheriff’s Office

●Consider RFA #231-20 Center for Tech and Civic Life COVID-19 Response Grant -- Jamie Doss, county clerk

●Consider RFA #232-20 Resolution 20-2308 Appointment of Public Building Commission members -- Phillip Smith-Hanes, county administrator

Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to hear Smith-Hanes' weekly update.

Commissioners also are scheduled to meet in executive session to discuss non-elected personnel.
