Donna Schneider, 95, died on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Lane County
Hospital in Dighton. She was born on March 31, 1927, in Lane County, the
daughter of James Henry & Ethel Rose (Myers) McCoy. She married
Forrest H. Schneider on May 27, 1945, in Lane County. He died on May 15,
2020.
Donna attended Pleasant View Grade School and graduated from Dighton
High School. She and her husband lived in Lane County until 1953 when
they moved to Salida, Colorado. While there she had several jobs
including working at a drive in restaurant, at a resort restaurant in
Poncha Springs, the Salida Flower Shop, Clerk at a Department Store
before becoming the bookkeeper at Coca-Cola. In 1980, they moved back to
Dighton and she worked at Whiting’s Department Store.
She was a member
of First Christian Church, ESA Sorority and the Red Hat Society. She
and her husband enjoyed traveling to warmer weather in the winters to
Del Rio, Texas; Mesa, Arizona; and Lake Havasu, Arizona. She had many
interests including camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, arts and
crafts, quilting and playing cards and dominos.
She is survived by her Sister- Rita Roehl of Dighton, Nieces and
Nephews- Glenda (Jamie) Cheatum of Salina, Cindy (Jerry) Bailey of Scott
City, Rad Roehl (Kathryn) of Dighton, Diana (Terry) Cramer of Orange
Beach, Alabama, Anita Mumma of Phoenix, Arizona, Pam (Greg) Augustine of
Ellis and Cheri Benjamin of Antigua, West Indies. She is preceded in
death by her Parents, Husband, Brother- Roland McCoy and Sister-
Inabelle Mumma.
Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at First Christian Church
in Dighton with Pastor Alana Chapman officiating. Burial will be in
Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
