More than $5,000 worth of items were stolen from a north Salina business earlier this month.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that sometime between Thursday and Saturday, someone pried up the sheet metal on a storage building in the 1100 block of N. 12th Street that is owned by Kansas Homes and Movers.

It is believed that the thief drove through a field on the south side of W. Euclid Avenue to get to the building, Forrester said.

Items stolen include the following.

●14 three-quarter-inch sets of copper line for air conditioners

●14 half-inch sets of copper line for air conditioners

●A yellow Bostitch air compressor

Total loss was estimated at $5,170.

Company personnel were able to screw the sheet metal back onto the building frame, Forrester said.
