On Wednesday, Kansas Wesleyan head basketball coach Anthony Monson was selected as the 4-Year College Men’s Coach of the Year by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association after leading the Coyotes to another stellar season

K-Dub finished 23-9 and tied Southwestern for second in the KCAC with an 18-4 record. Wesleyan advanced to the NAIA's Opening Round for the third consecutive season, while off the court, the team's cumulative GPA surpassed the 3.0 mark.

Monson is the first Kansas Wesleyan coach to win the men's award since its inception 40 years ago. Ryan Showman won the women's award in 2020.

Wednesday also saw Sporting KC back on the pitch and despite outshooting their opponent 17-14 the KC unit dropped their match to Vancouver by a final score of 2-1.

The Canadian squad took advantage of a Robert Voloder own goal in the 34th minute before Fafa Picault put the game away in the 76th.

Sporting will return to action this Saturday at 7:30 when they travel to take on Saint Louis

And finally speaking of KC soccer the Kansas City Current continues to roll at the top of the NWSL table, trailing the league leaders in Orlando by just three points.

The Current will be in Houston this Saturday to take on the Dash at 7:00
