Grants, 2022 budget among county agenda items for Tuesday

Grants, an appointment, and the 2022 budget are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

Commissioners are being asked to allow the Department of Senior Services to accept the following two grants to be used for building repairs and improvements at the senior center.

Dane G. Hansen Foundation grant in the amount of $20,000

Sunderland Foundation grant in the amount of $152,500

The funds will be used for a new Meals On Wheels drive through, outbuilding repair, tuckpointing the second and third floors of the building, and replacement of all windows, according to information from the commission meeting packet.

Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to consider appointing Mac Villalpando as a trustee on the Cambria Township Board.

Other items on the county commission agenda include the following.

●Consider proclaiming June 2021 as Elder Abuse Awareness Month

●Consider a Saline County Association of Public Employees memorandum of understanding

●Discuss revenues and expenditures for the 2022 county and special districts budgets

●Hear the county administrator's weekly update
