It will be warm and windy today.
Highs today will be around 15 degrees above normal as they top out in the 85 to 90 degree range, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita.
The warmth will be fleeting, however, as a cold front moves through the area this evening, bringing with it strong north winds. Areas along and especially west of Interstate 135 can expect wind gusts in the 40 to 50 mph range, NWS noted. Be sure to secure any loose outdoor items.
NWS reports that much cooler temperatures are expected for Thursday and Friday with highs only reaching the 60s.
