Fiber optic line work is scheduled to continue along S. Ninth Street this week.
According to information from the City of Salina, Eli Drilling will continue placing Bluebird underground fiber optic lines along S. Ninth Street, north from W. Schilling Road toward Otto Avenue. The company then will move to E. North Street and N. Ohio Street working on the west side of N. Ohio Street and moving toward E. Iron Avenue.
Work will be in grass areas with minimum sidewalk closures. No road closures are expected at this time, the city noted.
The fiber optic cabling and related facilities will connect existing cell towers and future 5G cell towers, providing exceptional cell service and high speed networks.
Work is this area is expected to continue until Friday.
