Salina Family Healthcare Center and Kansas Gas Service Announce Facility Exchange to Benefit Community and Employees

Salina Family Healthcare Center (SFHC) and Kansas Gas Service, a division of ONE Gas, Inc., are pleased to jointly announce the acquisition of their new future homes.

SFHC acquired the Kansas Gas Service property at the corner of Ohio and Edison to expand healthcare services to people in Central Kansas regardless of their ability to pay. It will also increase health professions training programs to fill healthcare workforce needs in rural Kansas.

“Salina Family Healthcare Center has been blessed to serve Salina and the Central Kansas area. Our patientcentered, team-based, and community-minded approach has led SFHC to become a vital health and wellness partner for so many in the region. And training the much-needed next generation of health professionals is at our core. Simply put, we are now out of space to meet the growing needs that we see in our community and across Kansas,” says Dr. Robert

Kraft, SFHC’s Chief Executive Officer. “I am grateful for Kansas Gas Service believing in a vision for a new community healthcare facility that will better serve us all.”

Kansas Gas Service will move into the former Harley Davidson property on North Ohio once renovations are complete.

"We're pleased to partner with SFHC, as it reflects our shared commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve," said Sean Postlethwait, Vice President of Operations for Kansas Gas Service. "Our Field Services teams will operate from a facility that supports greater efficiency in our work to continue providing safe and reliable natural gas services to residents and businesses in Salina and the surrounding area."

The teams at SFHC and Kansas Gas Service appreciate the community’s patience as these property changes are being carried out. Changes of this scale require collaborative planning and come with a variety of factors that can change timelines.

SFHC pledges to update the community on progress and the eventual timeline as more information becomes available. Currently, SFHC will continue to provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services at their location at 651 E. Prescott Rd and Eye Care services at their 2676 Planet Avenue location.
