Taylor Eugene (Gene) Clark, 80, of Jewell, KS, the son of Taylor Harold and Edna Ruth (Patterson) Clark was born December 16, 1940, in Concordia, KS and passed away on March 23, 2021, at Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, KS.
Gene attended school in Formoso, Kansas for 10 years. He finished high school at Courtland High School where he graduated in 1959. After high school, he farmed in the Formoso area for a few years, and then he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961 and served for four years. After his honorable discharge in 1964, he returned to the Formoso area to continue farming.
He was united in marriage to Sheryl Elaine Patrick in February of 1967. To this union, two sons were born, Timothy and John Taylor. Gene spent 10 years coaching little league baseball in Jewell County taking several teams to state tournaments. He also served 15 years as a project leader for the Formoso Willing Workers 4-H Club. Giving back to the community, especially through youth programs was a passion of Gene’s for his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sheryl Elaine; and his infant son, Timothy.
Gene is survived by his son, John (Mary) of Buhler, Kansas; his two grandsons, Cody McReynolds (Sarah) of Buhler and Levi Taylor Clark of Hutchinson; great-granddaughter, Paislee Jeane McReynolds of Buhler; significant other, Janice Peters of Jewell, KS and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and Interment will be held, 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2021, at Balch Cemetery, Formoso, KS, conducted by, Pastor Kathy Aeillo.
Military graveside services by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
Memorials may be given to Gene Clark Memorial Fund.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
