A man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash during an early Sunday morning armed robbery in north Salina.

A man described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black shoes, and a facemask entered the Flying J Travel Center, 2250 N. Ohio Street, at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The man approached two clerks - a 53-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man - who were in the soda machine area. The masked man displayed a handgun and demanded the money from the register.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left on foot toward N. Ohio Street. Forrester said one of the clerks reported seeing a black car pull out of one of the fuel lanes and drive across the street to where the robber had gone.

Forrester said police are checking on surveillance video from the area.
