September 5, 1950 - October 24, 2021

Brenda J. Davis, age 71, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia.  She was born on Sept. 5, 1950 in Concordia, KS to Robert D. and Betty L. (Lewis) Stortz.

Brenda graduated from Concordia High School in 1968. 

She married George Mikesell and to this union were born Robert, William and Mary. 

Brenda worked in the office for Boogaarts and later Scrivner until those offices closed. 

She returned to school and graduated from K-State Salina with an associates degree in business in 1999.  She worked in the office for Gerard Tank & Steel until her retirement but continued to help her son Robert in the office at Budreau Muffler.

Brenda served as Girl Scout leader for over 13 years where she taught outdoor living skills, camping and a host of other duties.  She loved to take the family camping at the lake and fishing with their grandfather.  She always enjoyed all their time spent together.

Brenda was currently serving as the president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; past treasurer for ABATE Dist. 9; life member of the Vietnam Veterans Auxiliary; the American Legion Riders, the Eagle Riders in Junction City and participated in the Cloud County Toy Run for the past several years.  Brenda was an avid quilter and sewer.  She made over 100 quilts for different patriotic groups, friends, family and anyone who may need one.  She also used her skills to embroider for several motorcycle groups.

Brenda later married Ron D. Davis on March 5, 2005, at the American Legion in Salina, KS on the singles night dance evening, since that is where they met!

She is survived by her husband Ron, Concordia; sons Robert (Kathy) Mikesell, Jamestown and William (Katie), Aurora; daughter Mary (John) Tippie, Nevada, MO; stepdaughters Ronda Davis, KC, MO and Leslie (Brian) McIntire, Smiths Station, AL; brother Dave (Nancy) Stortz, Smith Center; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Stortz.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Rev. Randy Whitley and Pastor Earl Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, all at the funeral home. 

The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Post #76 Ladies Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
