“Buddy” Warren Habacker, age 84 of Abilene, KS passed away at Abilene Memorial Hospital, Saturday October 12, 2024.

He was born July 20th, 1940, in Abilene, to “Cap” Howard and Lois Marie (Coulson) Habacker. Buddy farmed, raised cattle and hogs, and worked for the Solomon and Talmage Coops. He operated the road grader for Willowdale township, helped his children with numerous 4-H projects, was on the Willowdale township board, an active parent in PTA, all until his retirement in 2002. After his retirement he helped at the Solomon housing and on his daughters’ greyhound farm. Buddy loved his family, friends, farming, carpentry, yardwork, playing cards, games, and life. Participating in sports, FFA and 4-H, He graduated with the class of 1959 from Abilene High School. After graduation, he joined the army reserve.

Buddy married his high school sweetheart in 1960. They shared 64 years of marriage and were blessed with two children, Jeff Habacker, of McKenzie TN, and Penny McDonald, of Abilene. He was a member of Emmanuel Church, Solomon Lions Club and Johnson Community Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, “Cap” Howard, and Lois Habacker, His sister, Arden Collins, Aunt Dorthy Habacker, brother and sister in-law Ralph and Cenita McDowell, inlaws Doris and Milford McDowell, And great granddaughter, Zella Faith Russell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Louise, son Jeff and wife Tammy, daughter Penny, grandchildren, Joey and Samantha Habacker, Krista Russell and husband Rocque, Travis McDonald and Great grandchildren, Abigail, Charlotte, Nathan Habacker, Colter John McDonald and McCoy Russell.

Visitation for Buddy was held on October 19th, 2024, with funeral services to follow at Emmanual Church, 1300 N. Vine St. Abilene, KS, 11:00a.m. His Final resting place will be at Abilene Cemetery and in his family hearts.
