UPDATED: SPD identify suspects in vape store burglary

The Salina Police Department (SPD) sent officers to Dillon's at 1201 West Crawford for possible runaways from Saint Francis Ministries. 

SPD Captain James Feldman said when officers arrived at the grocery store at 8 a.m. The juveniles were located and officers determined they were the subjects who broke into the Vape Store early Friday morning.

Feldman said some items from the store were recovered.

During the early hours of Friday, August 16, the Salina Police Department (SPD) responded to a burglary alarm at Vape and Cigar on Crawford Street in Salina. SPD Captain James Feldman said the alarm was triggered at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Upon arrival at the business location at 1201 West Crawford Street, officers discovered that the glass door of the business was broken.

"Officers could tell that subjects had gone through the store. Employees responded to the business and said that they're still checking on the number of vapes," Feldman said. "We are still waiting on video."

The store suffered damage to a glass display case inside, bringing the estimated total damage to around $800. The exact amount of product lost is unknown. 

The investigation is ongoing. SPD is awaiting video footage that may provide additional information regarding the suspects involved.
