James (Sonny) Allen Brown, Jr., age 64, of Republic, KS, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS, with his wife by his side. He was born on Dec. 3, 1956 in Memphis, TN to James A. & Juanita O. (Bryson) Brown, Sr.

Sonny graduated from Raleigh High School. Sonny worked on the oil rigs in Houston, owned and operated his own security system business, worked as a technician for Sprint and later Nex-Tech. The last eight years he was working for Action Resources, Inc.

Sonny loved music and shared it with all his family & friends. He loved the *blues* but listened to many genres. Working as a truck driver the last 15 years, music followed him everywhere. He enjoyed sports of all kind with football leading the way with anything Tennessee and Kansas, but Oklahoma was in there too. He loved his fellow man so, so he could and did talk to everyone. He joined the volunteer fire department in Republic.
