
Today is primary election day in the state of Kansas!
Here's the Saline County primary election by the numbers for 2020:
Polls are open from 7 a.m.-to 7 p.m.
The primary election canvass is scheduled for 8 a.m. Aug. 11 in room 107B of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street.
Thirteen people have filed to run for the United States Senate seat currently held by Sen. Pat Roberts. Eleven of the 13 filed as Republicans, with two filing as Democrats. (See list below.)
Six people have filed to run for the United States House of Representatives First District seat currently held by Rep. Roger Marshall, including four Republicans and two Democrats. (See list below.)
Ten people are running for five Kansas Senate, House of Representatives, and Board of Education positions. (See list below.)
Nine people are running for seven county positions, include two county commission positions, county clerk, county treasurer, register of deeds, county attorney, and sheriff. (See list below.)
There are only two county races that have more than one person running.
Salina has 36 precincts.
Saline County has 18 townships.
Saline County has eight types of election worker positions: supervising judge, provisional ballot judge, cross-trained clerk, greeter, check-in clerk, computer operator, machine clerk, and advance election board clerk.
