Murdock earns KCAC Men's Basketball weekly honor

Kansas Wesleyan's Jun Murdock has been named as the KCAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a pair of games for the No. 16 ranked Coyotes last week. Murdock's selection comes from a group of nominees as voted on by conference sports information directors.

Murdock had two huge games last weekend, helping KWU go 1-1. He averaged 31.5 points per game, while shooting 61.3 percent from the field. On the week, he averaged 6.5 assists/game (including a 10-assist game against Morningside), 4.0 rebounds/game, and 3.0 steals per week.

Murdock dominated in Friday's win over No. 13 Morningside with 31 points, while hitting 13 of 16 free throws. Then, he kept the Coyotes in the game against a very strong Briar Cliff team with another outstanding effort. He played 38.5 minutes per game on the week, including all 40 against Morningside.

The Coyotes are 2-2 heading into a third weekend classic to open the season, in North Newton, at Bethel College on Friday and Saturday. The Coyotes will face William Woods on Friday and Peru State on Saturday.KWU opens KCAC play next Wednesday at home hosting Friends University.
