DICKINSON COUNTY - The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office (DKSO) has issued a statement on Facebook to encourage donations from the public towards their Community Involvement Fund, in order to support local initiatives and community events.
This Community Involvement Fund is supported by generous donations from the public, who want to support relationship building events sponsored by DKSO.
Events in the past included:
- Celebrating Kansas Day at elementary schools.
- Senior scam presentations at senior community centers.
- Cops and Bobbers youth fishing event in Herington.
- Solomon Festival.
- Chapman Labor Day Festival.
- Trunk or Treat events.
- Faith and Blue (rotates b/w the communities of Abilene, Herington, Chapman and Solomon).
For those wishing to contribute to DKSO goal of continuing these events, donations can be dropped off at the Sheriff's Office on 109 E 1st St, Abilene, KS.
Please note on the contribution that it is for the DKSO Community Involvement Fund. The Dickinson County Tax ID number can be provided upon request.
