Peabody - Archie A. Schmidt, 72, died January 17, 2021 at Newton Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1948 in Newton to Art and Ruth (Unrau) Schmidt. 

He married Kristin Matthies September 15, 1973 in Wichita. 

Survivors include: wife, Kristin Schmidt of rural Peabody; son, Luke (Sarah) Shorthill Schmidt of College Station, Texas; daughters, Jody Schmidt of Chicago, Ill, Kathy Schmidt of Great Bend; sister, Ada (Wes) Schmidt-Tieszen of Newton; granddaughter, Eva Sue Schmidt. 

Predeceased by: son, Alan Schmidt in 1985 and a sister Elaine Bartel in 2014.
