The Salina Rescue Mission is set to host its 25th Annual Dr. Temple Food Drive to support those in need during the holiday season. The event will take place on Friday, November 22, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, November 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Community members can donate items at all Salina Dillon’s locations.
The food drive aims to help the Rescue Mission provide over 64,000 meals this year, ensuring that individuals and families facing food insecurity have access to essentials. From canned goods to cleaning supplies, the drive welcomes a wide range of donations to address the needs of Salina's underserved population.
Shopping List for Donations:
Meats: Whole frozen turkey, whole frozen chicken, ham, lunch meat, hamburger
Canned Goods: Vegetables, fruit, salad dressing, peanut butter, jelly
HBA/Cleaning Supplies: Laundry detergent (free & clear), paper towels, toilet paper, 13-gallon trash bags
Dry Goods: Powdered milk, cereal, coffee, tea. Other: Dillons gift cards
Community support is crucial in making a difference, as the donations collected during the food drive will go directly to helping individuals and families in need.
