Stolen vehicle in North Salina results in arrest

A witness report of a man acting suspiciously when entering a vehicle, results in arrest.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Saturday, October 4 at around 8:00 pm, a witness reported of a man acting suspiciously as he was getting into a white 2005 Honda CRV in the 100 block of S. 5th.

After the report, an officer in the area located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as 27-year old, Buddy Redding and he was arrested without incident.

SPD contacted the owner of the vehicle (64-year old female) and she stated that Redding was not supposed to be operating it.

The victim stated the key fob was accidentally left inside the vehicle before it was stolen.

Redding was booked into the Saline County Jail for the requested charges of Attempted Theft, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
