Obituary of Joan F. Molzahn

Joan F. Molzahn, the daughter of Ernest Buller and Martha (Wedel) Buller, was born July 9, 1934 in Newton, Kansas and passed away on April 15, 2022 at the Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, Kansas at the age of 87 years, 9 months, and 6 days.

Joan grew up in Newton, Kansas, graduating from Newton High School. 

In 1953, she was united in marriage to Lloyd R. Gaiser and to this union were born four children:  Bradley Dean, Teresa Lynn, Marian Kay, and Jeffrey Scott.

Joan was a homemaker and from 1963 until 1979 served with her husband in the United Methodist Churches of Hope, Tescott/Culver, Logan/Glade and Clyde/Agenda.  

She and her husband moved to Belleville in 1979. Joan worked in the Belleville school system until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd, who died of Lou Gehrig’s disease in 1989; her second husband, Robert D. Molzahn in 2021; her parents; and two brothers, Robert Lee Buller and Curtis John Buller.

Joan is survived by her children Bradley Gaiser (Marla Sanchez) of San Jose, California,  Teresa (Jose) Navarro of San Jose, California,  Marian (Tyler) Nelson of Clay Center, Kansas and Jeff Gaiser of Clay Center, Kansas;  two granddaughters, Sydnee Nelson and Alexandra Nelson (Cory) Keehn; other relatives, and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Ida Cemetery, rural Munden, Kansas with Reverend Sang Hak Lee, officiating.

Interment will follow the service.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.on Wednesday, April 20th at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the Republic County Food Bank.
