A rural Gypsum man had to be extricated from his vehicle after a tractor-trailer rig/farm truck accident in southeastern Saline County.

Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander reported this morning that shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, Michael Jenson, 64, of rural Gypsum, was driving a 1995 International tractor-trailer rig with a load of soybeans north on Woodward Road. According to Melander, Jenson turned west onto Mentor Road but failed to yield to a 1976 GMC 6000 truck driven by Logan Ade, 24, of rural Gypsum, that was eastbound on Mentor Road, and instead, pulled out in front of it. The Ade's farm truck crashed into the side of the soybean trailer.

Ade was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated by Rural Fire District No. 1 and Salina Fire Department personnel, Melander explained. Ade was taken by ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries, Melander reported.
