WICHITA - Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer fell in a heartbreaker to the Friends Falcons on Wednesday night in the KCAC Semifinals as Friends scored a 99th minute goal and held on through the second overtime session for the 2-1 win at Stryker Sports Complex.

Wesleyan's season will close with a 10-8-2 record overall.

The Coyotes jumped out to an early lead as Grace Conner scored in the fourth minute off an assist by Leoni Enzlmuller. The Coyotes would hold that lead until the 55th minute when Yairee Perez hit the equalizer after a save of a shot by keeper Allison Blumenthal off a corner kick by the Falcons.

Wesleyan had a chance at a go-ahead goal in the 75th but Enzlmuller's shot would hit the crossbar trying to go top-shelf after a Friends foul.

Friends took the lead in the 99th minute on a goal by Kylie Lewis.

Collegiate soccer rules changed starting in 2022 that postseason games that go overtime must play out the full overtime periods regardless of score, so the match did not end there.

Friends was able to run out the clock in the second overtime and hold on for the win.

Friends outshot KWU 24-7 in the match.
